TOMATO
Big Beef (Hybrid)

Big Beef combines traditional delicious flavor with modern disease resistance. Described by many at the AAS trials as "the best tomato yet developed." Big Beef adapts easily to different environments and works well in virtually any climate. It couples old-fashioned flavor with bred-in hybrid qualities: colossal fruit size and yield, uniformity and a full spectrum of disease resistance. Smooth fruits are globe-shaped, weighing 9 oz. to one pound. Indeterminate.

Source: Totally Tomatoes
Days to germination: 7-14
Days to harvest: 73
Planting depth: 1/4"
Spacing (row/plant): 3'/24"

Suggestions: For easier harvesting, support plants with stakes or cages. Start seeds indoors six to eight weeks before planting outdoors. Harden off seedlings by putting them outside during the day for 1 week before transplanting. Transplant seedlings to the garden when nighttime temperatures remain above 55 degrees Farenheit. Enrich the soil before planting. Use landscape fabric to retain heat in the soil. To avoid diseases, don't plant where tomatoes or peppers have grown in the last two years. Water regularly to keep soil evenly moist.
