TOMATILLO
Purple

This unusual deep purple tomatillo makes an ideal salsa with its sweet tart flavor. The plant has striking purple veins in the leaves, and the husks are light green to buff colored. Very decorative as a garnish.

Days to germination: 7-10
Days to harvest: 70-80
Planting depth: 1/2"
Spacing (row/plant): 2'/12"

Heirloom

Suggestions: Does not need trellising. Fertilize soil lightly with mature compost. Best time to pick for salsa is when husks turn brown and begin to open. With additional time, they will become more seedy, but sweeter, for eating raw.
