Days to germination: 5-15
Days to harvest: 65-70
Planting depth: 1/4-1/2"
Spacing: 8-12"
Suggestions: Early crops should be planted as soon as the ground can be worked in spring, and fall crops during the first cool spell after Independence Day. Radicciho seed will not germinate well at soil temperatures over 80°F. For extra early crops or to get better germination in hot weather, radicchio may be started indoors 3 weeks before setting out in rows or beds. Leaves can be harvested at 4-6" tall. For heads, thin so plants stand 8-12" apart. If plants fail to head up, cut back to one inch above the crown at the onset of cool fall weather and plants will rehead. Color is best during cool weather.
