| PEPPER
(HOT)
Fish
The Fish chile pepper is a rare, 1870s African-American heirloom. Very hot peppers grow on ornamental, sprawling 2' tall bushes with variegated foliage and fruit. The fruit matures to fiery orange-red. The Fish pepper is often used in its immature white-and-green stage for white cream or cheese sauces. A "secret" ingredient in Chesapeake Bay fish houses, the Fish chile pepper can be used in many seafood recipes as well as being a gorgeous ornamental variety.
