BROCCOLI
Green Goliath

This is no ordinary broccoli. It often outyields all the others including hybrids. Medium-tall plants produce large semi-domed dark green head with tight beads.

Source: R.H. Shumway
Days to germination: 5-10
Days to harvest: 56
Planting depth: 1/2"
Spacing (row/plant): 24-36"/12-18"

Suggestions: Before planting, enrich the soil with compost. To avoid disease problems, don't plant where broccoli or related plants grew within the last 2 years. Water regularly and fertilize monthly. To harvest, cut the stem 4 to 6 inches below the central head while the buds are small and tight. No yellow flowers should be visible in the head.
