My tomatoes started sprouting after only 3 days! Most of them are up now. The first of the sweet peppers sprouted (the Sweet Bananas). Still no bell peppers! Also, only one chive. I think I might just buy some good chives or find the clump that I thought I had out there somewhere... Almost all of the marigolds have sprouted, except the Sparky Mixed. I don't know what's going on with them. Maybe the seeds were bad.

The Thai Sun peppers have a lot of new growth and many flowers, but no peppers. I didn't think they would even flower until I put them outside, so I'm not sure what's going to happen with them. The mint in the solarium is growing like crazy!

I planted all of my tomatoes today. (Visit the vegetable garden page to see what I'm growing.) I also planted 6 things for my sister Nicole -- 3 sweet peppers and 3 tomatoes. She has a house now, so I think it's mandatory that she grow some tomatoes! I also planted 72 marigolds today that will grow in and around the vegetable garden and some Tansy (for pest protection) and some herbs (Oregano and Thyme). My oregano from last year died, so I have to start over.

As of today, I have 3 peppers that have sprouted (one week after planting) -- a Hungarian Yellow Wax, a Serrano (which was the first) and a Crimson Torpedo. It's so exciting! I still only have 1 of the chives.

The first of my chives is finally starting to sprout. That is 12 days after it was planted and the packet says 15-21 days. I was starting to worry, but I didn't realize it takes so long to sprout! I still don't have any Green Glaze collards, so I threw several more seeds in there on Thursday. My broccoli and broccoli raab have true leaves and my lettuce is all sprouting after only 5 days. No peppers yet!

My Thai Sun peppers that overwintered in the Solarium are flowering! I first noticed the flowers last week and I couldn't believe it. I didn't think the plant would start flowering until after I put it outside after the first frost. Maybe the flowers will drop off. I don't know, I was just surprised to see them!

Speaking of peppers, I planted all my peppers seeds yesterday. I've also started taking orders from family members for plants. I like to grow extra (mostly peppers and tomatoes) for other people to grow.
