I've been busy planning this year's garden, finishing the Web site and starting my first seeds!
I have 12 American Flag leek seedlings, 18 Red Burgundy onions and 18 Sweet Spanish Yellow Utah Jumbo onions. I've also got 6 parsley started -- 3 Moss Curled and 3 Italian Flat. They curley parsley was sown on 2/16 and I saw the first one sprouting today, 2/23. That's not bad for seeds with a 21-28 day germination rate! (I did soak the seeds overnight before planting.)
Last night, I started the following (in a 24-cell APS): 2 Broccoli Raab, 6 Broccoli (my last seeds from 2002 of Hybrid Super Blend), 12 Chives (I'm going to plant them in 2 clumps outside), 2 Green Glaze Collards, 2 Georgia or Southern Collards and some Sage (Broad Leaf), which I planted in a pot by itself.
I built my shelf in the solarium and have 2 lights set up on it. It's great! And was a lot cheaper than buying the pre-made potting shelves. I will post some instructions and photos soon.
