It's New Year's Eve! I'm finally getting a LOT of stuff done on the Web site. I just finished up the Marketplace section, so now the only thing I have to do is the Gardens (vegetable, herb, heirloom and flowers), which is the biggest part of the site. I may launch with a slightly small section and then expand it. I'd like to get everything else up and running, so I can register with search engines and get some other sites linking to me.
I am starting to get seed catalogs and I'm thinking about what I want to grow. Oh, I also did the thing today that I saw on Victory Garden (the tecnique I mentioned below about pruning the pepper plants and overwintering them indoors). I'm not sure if I did it right. They look pretty crappy right now! Another project on the horizon is something for my seedstarting. I think I outgrew my basement setup last year (I only have one 48-inch light fixture with 2 bulbs in it) and I'm considering setting something up in the Solarium this year. They sell these really cool shelves with adjustable lights, but they cost $300-$500, so I think I can build something cheaper. I'm going to go to Lowe's (or Home Depot) and look at some shelves and some shop light fixtures to see if I can build something attractive enough to be in the house. If not, it's back to the basement!!
